Thing is, most people aren’t that good at it. The vast majority of humans are amateurs at deception. They tell white lies to their family and friends, exaggerate their accomplishments at work. Average people are even worse at identifying when they themselves are being lied to, often taking others at face value despite obvious signs that they are not told the whole story.
I’ve spent over two decades of my life studying the psychology of deception and identifying predictable blind spots in otherwise intelligent and sophisticated people. Over the course of my career, I’ve successfully picked the pockets of law-enforcement professionals, gotten CEOs of major technology companies to unwittingly disclose their PIN codes to me, and steered senior executives at multibillion-dollar companies to do exactly what I wanted. Over the course of my career, I have been invited to entertain some of the most prominent CEOs, VPs, and entrepreneurs in the world.
Performed for some of the most accomplished and successful technology leaders in Silicon Valley at corporate and private events.
During my 25+ years of performing magic geared toward engineers and executives, I’ve gotten to know some of my clientele very well and come to understand that the skills I’ve honed to entertain may have a second purpose.
